Artist: Jennie Stephens
Jennie will use the children’s book Cassie's Word Quilt by Faith Ringgold as the basis for exploration of textures, colors and patterns. Children will go on a "letter picnic" to reinforce the alphabet and simple spelling. They gain confidence working with new materials and making color choices while they create a quilt like Cassie's! Jennie is a painter, printmaker and fiber artist who loves to work with color. She has worked for the Carnegie Museum of Art children’s program. Jennie holds a BA in Studio Art from Kent State University and an MA in Archival, Museum and Editing Studies from Duquesne University.
