Early Learning Through the Arts Training WorkshopsGateway to the Arts, an approved PQAS and Act 48 provider, offers a variety of hands-on, participatory professional development workshops throughout the year, especially designed for early childhood practitioners. These trainings are available at your center or offered through PAKEYS. Sessions in dance and movement, music, dramatic play and visual arts are taught by Gateway’s professional teaching artists. Emphasis is on developmentally appropriate practice for children ages 3-5. All workshops meet Pennsylvania's Early Learning Standards and the Core Body of Knowledge for Early Childhood and School-Age Caregivers. Why the arts?Arts-based teaching strategies create active, joyful, child-centered learning experiences that enliven the classroom! The arts offer rich and varied experiences that support overlapping physical, cognitive and socio-emotional developmental areas.Credit/Hours: Act 48 or DPW hours are available for all workshops.
